Side one shows a Kansas City regional map that includes 30 counties in Missouri and 20 counties in Kansas. Map on reverse shows the greater Kansas City area. Both highlight existing paved roads and those under construction. Major unpaved roads--such as Midland Trail, King of Trails, Platte Purchase Route, National Old Trails--are indicated. Side 2 also includes numbered lists of public buildings in Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas.
The maps accompany articles, such as "Good Roads and Dairy Cows Bring Prosperity," and charts of how Wisconsin, Kansas, and Missouri rank as well as corn yields. The purpose of the text and maps is to promote more roads in the region. An order blank for the maps and literature (18 articles by J. Frank Smith about agricultural conditions in Wisconsin written for the Kansas City Journal-Post) is on side 2.
