| Description | Portrait of William P. Wilbur, a Lieutenant in the U. S. Army. Wilbur was born on September 10, 1917 in Miami, Florida, and in 1928, his family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. In February 1941, Wilbur enlisted in the U. S. Army and he died on July 27, 1943 while in combat at the Rendova Island during the campaign for the capture of the Munda Air Field. |
