According to Edmiston's book, p. 324 - John Allyn Coon was the oldest child of Carleton and Eula Coon, born February 7, 1913. He started his own band in 1932 which lasted until 1974. He also operated the Johnny Coon Theatrical Agency, residing in the Kansas City metro area. He died May 5, 1999. |
