DescriptionAt the bottom left in a box, "Soldiers Orphans and Widows/Home--and Hospital,/St. Joseph Missouri." On the righthand side at the bottom in the same type of box, "J. A. Storm and W. Angelo Powell/Architects and Superintendents/St. Joseph Missouri." Printed on the reverse is "From the/New York Gallery,/North Side Market Square,/St. Joseph, MO./L. A. Furlong & Co." A handwritten line is drawn through the Furlong name and handwritten below is "Crowther Bros."

According to "The History of Buchanan County, Missouri," (1881) J. A. Storm, architect, was a long-time partner in "contracting and building with John C. Evans," but "in 1865, he sold out to DeClue & Shivel, and for one season, in company with W. Angelo Powell, conducted a real estate and architect's office" (p. 908).
