"This station opened in 1956. . .[and] was the first fire station to be built north of the Missouri River.... This is the fourth Fire Station No. 6 since 1883" (Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department 1868-1006, Vol. IV, 2007, page 62, MVSC F 628.92 K1652).
