| Abstract | Photo and description of German Village, ca. 1915, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Reverend J. Sauer, pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical Church in Kansas City, Missouri, was responsible for the development of this retirement community for pastors of the German Evangelical Church. Eventually 13 houses comprised the community, including the summer residence of William Volker on Walnut. The entire 12.5 acres, now known as Blue Springs Terrace, is on the National Register of Historic Places. |
