AbstractMary Colter had done the original decorating for Fred Harvey and his space at Union Station. When they needed renovating, he asked Mary Colter to do it again. This included a restaurant and cocktail shop (Westport Room), a drugstore and a novelty shop. She choose to decorate with historical murals depicting the area's history. Hildreth Meiere of New York was asked to paint the murals.
NotesMary Colter lived in an apartment in Kansas City for 25 years (1915-1940) while she worked for Fred Harvey. He moved his headquarters from Kansas City to Chicago in 1938.
