AbstractHistory of the Collins Construction Company, founded in 1880, and some of the construction industry in general in the Kansas City area. Location in 1980 at 1030 Pawnee Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas.
NotesCollins Construction Company was one of the "four major builders in Kansas City" in the "big building boom after World War I." They built "the Kansas City Life Insurance Co. home office on Broadway, the Midwest Research building on Volker Boulevard. ..and the original Ford Motor Company plant that is now part of the Armco Steel Complex," as well as "most of the structures that comprise the Fairfax Industrial District in Kansas City, Kan."
