| Title | Art: Architectural History of City Long Overdue |
| Abstract | Book review of "Kansas City, Missouri: An Architectural History, 1926-1976" by George Ehrlich, former "president of the Kansas City Chapter of Architectural Historians and also chairman of UMKC's art and art history department." Description of his career, arriving in Kansas City in 1954 as a college teacher immediately interested in Kansas City's unique architectural characteristics. |
| Notes | Kansas City, like most cities, contians [sic] enough local perculiarities [sic] to make it recognizably different, Ehrich says. One characteristic he noticed immediately was the multi-deck verandas on the older apartment houses in town, [sic] another was the extensive use of single family dwellings, mainly bungalows, throughout the city. |
