AbstractHistory of the Ellet-Kendall Shoe Company, established in 1867 as the W. W. Kendall Boot and Shoe Company by "the late William W. Kendall [or William Kendall) and Jemuel C. Gates," absorbed in 1901 by the Ellet Brothers Shoe Company and "from then on continued as the Ellet-Kendall Shoe company," headed by Arthur Ellet, or A. G. Ellet. Description of locations of the stores in their various entities at 10th Street (Ellet Brothers), 7th and Wall Streets (Ellet Brothers), the Kendall Building at 4th and Delaware Streets (W. W. Kendall Boot & Shoe Company and then the Ellet-Kendall Shoe Company), 8th and May Streets (Ellet-Kendall after absorbing the Bond Shoe Company), and 412-418 West 8th Street (present in 1917).
