Not available online
TitleEditorial Forum: The Kansas City Meeting
AbstractArticle describing Kansas City's tourist attractions and general features (climate, history, etc.) for "the Kansas City meeting, the sixtieth annual conference of the American Library Association." Places described including the Shawnee Mission, Santa Fe Trail sites, Municipal Auditorium, the City Hall and Jackson County Courthouse, the Kansas City Power & Light Building, park and boulevard system, "Union Station, new Federal Post Office, Liberty Memorial, the 1,400 acre Municipal playground, Swope Park, and the world-famous Country Club Residential District," etc.
NotesPage 272: "Only a block from the [Municipal] Auditorium is the Lighting Institute which should be of particular interest to all librarians because of extensive work on color-lighting. Housed within the Kansas City Power and Light Building, the Lighting Institute provides a complete visual history of the light industry from the invention of the first Edison bulb. During the past few years a series of tests has been made testing the relationship of color to visibility."
