Growing up in Northeast Kansas City (as a member of the Scarritt family) and in 1939 helping to remove Boss Pendergast as a member of the Citizens Association before becoming a city councilman in 1959 "with offices "on the 20th floor of the Scarritt Building" and residence at "the old Scarritt home where he lives with his 94-year-old mother" at 2500 Gladstone Boulevard. |
