AbstractReprint from the Oak Grove Banner newspaper of February 22, 1902 about the history of Sni-a-Bar Township in northeastern Jackson County, "organized May 5, 1834." Containing 5,000 people in 1902 including "the towns of Oak Grove [originally called Lickskillet] and Blue Springs" and Grain Valley, Missouri as well as many farms and forests.
NotesThe following early settlers are described here: (1) Jacob Gregg (arriving in the 1820s), (2) James Welch (arriving in 1820 from Tennessee before dying in 1841), (3) William Cox (arriving about 1820 with James Welch), (4) John McKinney (arriving in the 1830s), (5) William Philpot, (6) Alexander Joyce, and (6) David George, et al.
