AbstractThird in a series of autobiographical articles with illustrations about Arthur Stilwell, a Kansas City railroad magnate of the southern Midwest in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Description of his middle railroad career in Kansas City, "building a railroad to the sea" to the south (later known as the Kansas City Southern Railroad) and beginning the Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railroad to the Pacific Coast of Mexico (never completed under his ownership).
