AbstractBrief article describes the planting of a tree as a memorial to Kansas City bluesman Lester "Wizard" King. The oak tree was planted just north of the Charlie Parker statue in the plaza area behind the American Jazz Museum. The author writes that a plaque honoring King was also unveiled at the Mutual Musicians Foundation.
