AbstractAuthor bids adieu to one of Kansas City's best known roller coasters, the Orient Express, which was dismantled prior to the 2004 season at Worlds of Fun. As part of his homage to the coaster, the author recounts an invitation by Lamar Hunt, owner of Worlds of Fun, to accompany him on an inaugural ride in 1979.
