AbstractArticle describes the Osage Cuestas and Chautauqua Hills geological regions of the state of Kansas. The Osage Cuestas occupies the southeast corner of the state, including much of Johnson and Douglas Counties, which lie at its northern edge.
NotesThe Osage Cuestas region provides evidence that the shallow Pennsylvanian and Permian Seas once repeatedly advanced and withrew above the earth that would become Kansas.
