| Title | 75 Years Strong |
| Abstract | W.W. Van Liew had the knack of turning an outdoor space into something magical. He lived in Atchison, Kansas at the turn of the last century and his two sons Clarence and Ernie would move to Kansas City, starting a business of making concrete lawn ornaments and novelties. Clarence started selling them from his house at 7343 Prospect. There is still the business at the same corner operated by Clarence's son David and his daughter Michelle. |
| Notes | In the 1940s, Clarence and Ernie Van Liew would show off their garden and lawn creations in a surprisingly unique way: they took a scale miniature reproduction of their father's home, surrounded by miniature versions of all their products, to garden shows and fairs throughout the region. They would take orders for full-sized versions of their statuaries from this display. |
