AbstractObituary for James D. Freeman, dying on April 10, 2003, at his home in Kansas City, Missouri, at age 91. Reverend Freeman was poet laureate of Unity School of Christianity, Unity Village, Missouri. Besides being a poet, he was an internationally known author and lecturer. Well-known poems include: "The Traveler", "Blessing For a Marriage", "Prayer For Protection" which was taken to the moon on Apollo 11 in July 1969; and "I Am There" which was taken to the moon by Colonel James B. Irwin on the Apollo 15 flight.
