"His [John McKecknie's] contribution here was in early reinforced-concrete structure, with the Gumbel building of 1904 at the southeast corner of [8th] and Walnut streets, the Montgomery Ward building of 1908 at the southwest corner of [19th] and Campbell streets, and the Gloyd building of 1909 at 921 Walnut street."
