NotesThe cost of damage from the September 12 flood is approaching $100 million. 12,000 families have been processed by federal disaster centers. About 1,000 loans totaling about $12 million have been approved by the Small Business Administration. It is expected SBA loans to homeowners and businessmen will total $35 million. Breakdown of flood costs: $10 million--housing; $27 million--loan applications to date; $6 or $7 million--grant programs; $7 million--damage to public property. An estimated $15 million in insured damages brings total figure to $90 million range.
