| Notes | William Wadsworth Findlay opened his first art gallery in half of a storeroom at 718 Main Street in 1870. The Findlay Galleries were in a good many locations before closing here in the 1930s. The Findlay family by the 1970s had galleries in Chicago, New York, Palm Beach, Beverly Hills, and Paris. Walter Findlay, grandson of William Wadsworth Findlay, lived in Beverly Hills and his sister Helen lived in Chicago. |
