AbstractArticle about the 8th Street Tunnel of the elevated street railway, with photo and an illustration of its cross-section in 1895.
NotesThe second tunnel was closed down December 29, 1922, when the elevated structure was condemned as unsafe. It was reopened six years later for another 28 years of service after a new trestle was constructed at the west end.
