AbstractArticle about Kansas City television weather forecaster Fred Broski and his successful local game show "Bowling for Dollars," with cultural significance as "a sort of daily edition of the book 'Working' by Studs Terkel." Detailed biography also of Fred Broski, born in about 1936 near "16th and Bennington" streets on the East Side in Kansas City, growing up in the Northeast, and starting work at the All-Brite Galvanizing division of the Broski Brothers business, before doing part-time radio and then television work in nearby cities in the 1960s.
