AbstractNearly an entire section of the paper devoted to the dedication of the new "Lake City Ordnance Plant," a military industrial complex for production of small arms ammunition in eastern Jackson County made up of "219 structures" and twice the area of Swope Park. Several articles, photos, and illustrations describing the plant itself and related topics, such as employment, construction industry, special radio shows, operations by Du Pont chemical company, J. C. Nichols's efforts in bringing the plant to the area, a new bomber plant in Fairfax industrial district, and Reddy Kilowatt's support of the weapons being produced, etc.
