AbstractPhotos (of the deceased and his shop), caption, and obituary article about James Ventola, 79-year-old proprietor of the Ventola Foot Comfort Shop at 3321 Troost Avenue more than 40 years, killed there by a beating in 1973. Native of Italy emigrating to Kansas City in 1901 as a shoe repairman becoming known as "the Mayor of Troost Avenue" with residence at 5045 Virginia Avenue.
