AbstractPortraits and biographical article about Jacob Leander Loose, or Jacob Loose, "chairman of the board, Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company." Description of his life and career, born in Pennsylvania in 1850 and starting his dry goods company in Kansas in 1870. Coming to Kansas City in 1882 as buyer of the Corle Cracker and Candy Company, changed to the Loose Brothers Manufacturing Company in 1885 and then the American Biscuit Company in 1890. Business starting anew with the Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company in 1902 and becoming posthumous namesake of Loose Park in Kansas City.
