Native of Lawrence, Kansas coming to Kansas City as a poet and reporter before contributing to national periodicals "including the Chicago Tribune and Frank A. Munsey's magazine" and writing 37 novels (mostly westerns) including "Claim Number One," "There Were No Heroes," and "West of Dodge."
NotesA prolific writer, Mr. Ogden contributed articles, short stories and poetry to leading American and European magazines and had 37 novels to his credit, most dealing with the exploits of cowboys and other western heroes.
