AbstractPhoto and obituary articles for Michael Pendergast (ca. 1867-1929), "lieutenant of the 'big boss'" Tom Pendergast in his Kansas City political machine, dying at the age of 62 on September 2, 1929. Native of Saint Joseph, Missouri and older brother of Tom Pendergast coming to Kansas City about 1886 and serving in the Pendergast machine as county license inspector (for saloons), city clerk, and president of the Eureka Petroleum Company with residence at 4138 Campbell Street.
