AbstractPhoto and caption about the last day "for the mounted service" of the Kansas City Police Department on September 2, 1929.
Notes'Goodbye, old boy, we hate to see you go.' A friend of the horses bids farewell to one of the pets of the police mounted patrol. Today was the last for the mounted service. The horses will be removed from duty because of lack of funds to provide for their upkeep. The photograph shows Earl Quick, patrolman, on his horse.
