AbstractPhoto and obituary for Judge Lewis Clymer, "the first black man to be appointed to the Jackson County Circuit Court" dying at the age of 90 in 2001. Born in Neosho, Missouri in 1910 and coming to Kansas City in 1941 as a lawyer before becoming one of "the first three black lawyers admitted to the Kansas City Bar Association in 1955" and "the second African-American on the [Municipal] court" in 1960.
