| Title | A French Canadian Family among Western Pathfinders |
| Abstract | Illustrations and biographical article about the Robidoux family of fur traders in Missouri and the far west including Louis Robidoux and especially his brother Joseph Robidoux III (1763-1868), founder of Saint Joseph, Missouri. "Joseph, the eldest. ..was perhaps one of the earliest white settlers on the site of Kansas City. While yet a boy he had gone up the river with Captain Ashley on a trapping expedition in 1799. A few years later he established a trading post at the junction of the Kaw and Missouri rivers and remained there six months. Reports and maps in the Astor Library, New York, bear out this statement, it is said." |
