AbstractPhoto and obituary for Jacob Ruf, "founder with his four sons of the Ruf Realty company" and a pioneer aviator of Kansas City dying at the age of 82 at his residence at 3816 Washington Street. Native of Germany emigrating to Kansas City in 1893 as operator of natural gas fields, cabinet works, and then the first passenger airline here in the 1920s.
NotesJacob Ruf and his three brothers "built a 3-man biplane in their cabinet shop at 7025 Prospect in 1925 and offered the first passenger air service out of Municipal Air Terminal in 1927."
