AbstractPhoto and obituary for Judge Hugh Smith, "former judge of the Wyandotte County district court and an active leader of the Argentine district in Kansas City, Kansas, for half a century" before dying at the age of 82. Native of Illinois becoming city attorney of Argentine, Kansas (or the Argentine industrial district) in 1897 and then of Kansas City, Kansas in 1915 upon the annexation of Argentine. Also writer of the bill for the annexation of Rosedale, Kansas into the city of Kansas City, Kansas.
