AbstractFile containing a biographical article about Willard Winner (1849-1929), an interurban railroad, bridge, and real estate developer and promoter of the Kansas City area. Native of Iowa coming to Kansas City about 1863 with his family and in the 1880s building a dummy line between Independence and Fairview, a bridge across the Missouri River, and a belt line to North Kansas City, Missouri, etc. Namesake of Winner Road in Independence.
