AbstractObituary for John Barber White (1847-1923), or John White, a lumber magnate and library donor. Raised in New York and coming to Kansas City in 1892 as co-organizer of the Missouri Lumber & Mining Company, timber conservationist, and collector of American history and genealogy books and materials (donated to the Kansas City Public Library in 1933). Buried in Mount Washington Cemetery with a bust of himself displayed at the library.
