AbstractArticle discusses the plan to demolish the "outmoded Blue Ridge Mall and replace it with 600,000 square feet of new retail development, including a Wal-Mart." The plan is supported by the Kansas City Tax Increment Financing Commission. Also mentioned is the desire of the Verterans Affairs to purchase the former Kaiser Permanente building at the west end of the property for a primary care clinic.
