AbstractFile containing a brief biographical article about Dr. Walter Maddux, a native of Kansas City, Kansas, and newly appointed head of pediatrics "in the great hospital that is to be erected in Chicago for Negroes" at the University of Chicago, in 1930. Maddux received his medical training at the University of Kansas and "in the Wheatley hospital branch of Mercy hospital," established by Dr. Katherine Richardson.
