TitleFriends Fixing Pharis Farm For the Future
AbstractThe Pharis Farm, located in Clay County, 5 miles northeast of Liberty, 20611 Route EE, was established in 1858. It was willed by owner Donald Pharis to the county. In 2002, a decade after his death, Clay County assumed possession of the property. Pharis left a $228,000 trust to be used for restoration/preservation/use and the county is now using a large part of that fund to restore the house and property.
NotesA "newly formed Friends of the Pharis Farm are just as vigilant about preserving the farm's heritage now as Pharis was about conserving the land and educating students then."
