TitleTunnel in Building at 1400 Guinotte
AbstractCaptioned photograph of a tunnel located in a building overlooking the southern approach to the Paseo Bridge at 1400 Guinotte. The building was built in 1905 as a cannery and is now being turned into the Guinotte Loft project. "The building supports a basement tunnel that is rumored to run to the nearby banks of the Missouri River. It is said that during the Prohibition years the tunnel was used by bootleggers and mobsters to smuggle liquor in and out of Kansas City."
