TitleDesigns Incorporate What He Cares About
AbstractFeatured in the "Profile" column is Bob Berkebile, senior principal at the architectural firm of Berkebile Nelson Immenshuh McDowell, located in the Kansas City Power and Light Building. The Hyatt Regency disaster had a big effect on Berkebile. "Berkebile had signed off on the architectural designs of the skywalks, but investigations revealed changes by engineers that severly weakened the 32-ton bridges." Berkbile's Kansas City designs include KCI Airport, Hyatt Crown Center, and Kansas City Zoo.
Notes'I don't think any firm has had as much impact on the city as we have,' said the senior principal of Berkebile Nelson Immenshuh McDowell Architects.
