| Abstract | A Korean War Veterans Memorial is to be located on the southwest corner of 119th Street and Lowell Avenue in Overland Park. The groundbreaking ceremonies will be Saturday, April 22, 2006 with U.S. Congressman Dennis Moore speaking. It is being built by the Korean War Veterans Association, Kansas Chapter 1-181 based in Overland Park. The cost is between $650,000 and $700,000 with all but $100,000 still needed for a statue and plaques. Includes a diagram of proposed memorial. |
| Notes | According to the article, there were more than 400 military deaths from Kansas during the war and more than 900 military deaths from Missouri. |
