| Abstract | Article features Sarajane S. Aber and her association with the Kansas City Rose Society. She has been a member of the organization for 30 years with 22 of those years as rose garden chairwoman. The society is preparing for its 75th anniversary celebration on June 4, 2006, in Loose Park. "The Laura Conyers Smith Municipal Rose Garden, which covers more than an acre at Loose Park, and the Rose Society were created in 1931." The article goes on to say "In 2002 nearly $1 million was raised by the society to build a new fountain and surrounding walkways. But, for the most part, the garden physically has not changed much from the plan what was drawn up by the city in 1931, Aber said". |
