| Abstract | General Motors Corp. has been reducing its hourly work force by 30 percent. At the Fairfax plant, 682 of the plant's 2,500 production employees decided to leave, and more than 400 hundred have already left. The article goes on to report, however, that "While General Motors is closing about a dozen plants as part of the downsizing, the size of the Fairfax work force will not change significantly . . . because departing employees are being replaced." |
