AbstractFile containing a National Register of Historic Places nomination form for the Athenaeum Club, "the oldest [surviving] women's club in Kansas City, dating from 1894" with its own building constructed in 1915 at 900 East Linwood Boulevard. Biographical sketch (on page 6) of its architect, Samuel Tarbet (ca. 1871-1945), designer of "a wide variety of buildings" in Kansas City starting in 1906 including "the Olathe, Kansas, City Hall in 1910; the Robert Sutherland residence at 410 Gladstone in 1913; and the Graphic Arts Building at 934 Wyandotte in 1917."
