NotesFirst exposition on October 6, 1887, opening day. Last exposition held in Crystal Palace in the fall of 1893. Destroyed by fire on August 5, 1901, and previous to this had stones destroyed on the roof. Modeled after the Crystal Palace in London, it had 17 acres of floor space and 80,000 square feet of glass formed its roof. The building cost $265,000 and the equipment cost $30,000.
