AbstractThere are several small Statues of Liberty in the metro area, donated by the Boy Scouts. The statue donation project was begun in 1949 by John H. Whitaker of North Kansas City. Some of the statues are to be found at Meyer and Prospect Avenues in Kansas City, in Huron Park in Kansas City, Kansas, at 23rd and Howell Streets in North Kansas City, at Independence Junior High School, at a grade school on Mill Street in Liberty, at the Saint Joseph Civic Center, and at the city hall in Leavenworth.
