AbstractVarious facts concerning Arrowhead Stadium: Artificial turf removed and replaced with grass in 1994, cost of the stadium according to published records in 1970 was $13,847,294, the stadium was part of a $102 million bond issue Jackson County passed in June of 1967, dedication occurred on August 12, 1972, with opening game and score: Chiefs 24, St. Louis Cardinals 14, groundbreaking on July 11, 1968, architect was Kivett and Myers with Charles Deaton, design associate, the stadium was designed to seat 79,101 people.
