AbstractInformation on James Greenwood (1837-1914), or J. M. Greenwood, prominent superintendent of the Kansas City School District from 1874 to 1913. Description of his career, elected superintendent in 1874 with the public library opened that year in his office, and succeeded about 1911 by I. I. Cammack. Selected as one of the ten "outstanding persons in the development of American education" by the National Educational Association after his death.
NotesJames Greenwood's middle name is spelled "Michaelborough" in a pamphlet in the file, but elsewhere is spelled "Mickleborough."
