AbstractPhotos, illustrations, and information on Colonel George Warder (1848-1906), builder and founder of the Warder Grand Opera House in Kansas City in 1887 at 9th and Holmes Streets (later rebuilt as the Auditorium Theater and razed by 1960). Native of Richmond, Missouri moving to Chillicothe, Missouri before coming to Kansas City in 1878 as a lawyer, published poet, and author of unscientific books on astronomy such as "Cities of the Sun."
